2 young rebels who recanted testimony vs military are not trustworthy—Pastor ACQ

PASTOR Apollo C. Quiboloy of The Kingdom of Jesus Christ does not believe the recanted testimonies of the two young rebels, Jhed Tamano and Jonila Castro.

According to Pastor Apollo, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is an honorable organization, and it is not foolish to present the two surrendering individuals to the media if they were coerced or threatened.

This statement comes after the two rebels sought protection from the Supreme Court, alleging that they were abducted by the Philippine Army and did not surrender willingly.

‘‘I don’t believe in these two; their faces just look like they’re lying, and their faces are not trustworthy,’’ according to Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, The Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

‘‘In your mind, do you think the Armed Forces of the Philippines are fools? You know you abducted them, you know you tortured them, you know you coerced them into confessing something that wasn’t true, and then you put them in front of the media. You put them in front of the media, knowing that they were coerced, and there were cameras present, and you were right there beside them—AFP is not that foolish, and I am not that foolish either to believe it. That’s logic,’’ Pastor Apollo said.

It should be noted that more than a week has passed since they surrendered to the government and recanted their testimony.

According to Pastor Apollo, the two individuals should be charged for recanting their testimonies.

‘‘You should be charged for recanting your words. Is the AFP foolish to believe your testimony, and then you’re put in front of the media?’’ Pastor Apollo added.

According to the good Pastor, the two are pitiful because they are being used for the interests of others.

‘‘Your situation is difficult; those who are behind you have put you at risk. Did you think they would defend you?’’ Pastor Apollo stated.

The good Pastor also wishes that the two would realize the seriousness of the case they are facing.

‘‘I hope the two of you will have a realization, that your case is difficult, perjury, and for every lie, that’s 6 years.’’

‘‘You should prove every sentence you say, it’s not just through words. It’s not what you say; it is what you can prove through evidence. Your situation is difficult,’’ according to Pastor Apollo.

To recall, the Philippine Army and the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) initially stated that they would file charges against the two young individuals.

However, in case they decide to return to the fold of the law, the government will welcome them.
