Israel Ministry of Defense to visit Philippines before end of 2023—Israeli embassy

ACCORDING to the Embassy of Israel, the Israeli Ministry of Defense will visit the Philippines, during their visit; possible talks between the two countries’ defense departments will further strengthen the country’s Armed Forces.

According to the Embassy of Israel, various delegations from Israel are scheduled to visit the Philippines.

During the Jewish New Year celebration, Israeli Ambassador Ilan Fluss bared plans to improve the relationship between the two countries in various fields.

Fluss said the International Defense Cooperation Directorate of the Israel Ministry of Defense is scheduled to visit the country in November 2023.

He told the media that the possible involvement of Israel in Horizon 3 of the Modernization Program of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and even in the modernization of the Philippine Coast Guard and Philippine National Police (PNP) will be discussed between the two countries.

 ‘’As you know, we have Israeli technologies that would be either ready to be used or in the process of being integrated or built for AFP – on Air Force, Navy, and Army, also, with the PNP and also with the Coast Guard. So basically, looking at the different projects,’’ according to Ambassador Ilan Fluss Embassy of Israel.

‘’To understand the future technologies that will be needed here in Horizon 3 and see where we can integrate the best Israeli technologies,’’ Fluss added.

Economic delegations from Israel to visit Philippines this year

According to Fluss, four economic delegations are also scheduled to visit the country this year.

He said this is to boost the cooperation between the Philippines and Israel in the fields of agriculture, technology, emergency response, and water.

He added that a delegation from the Israeli Chamber of Commerce will also visit the country.

The said Embassy also expects the holding of the first Joint Economic Committee meeting between Israel and the Philippines this year.

‘’It would be the first time that will be meeting on the ministerial level, secretary level, to discuss, as governments, how do we navigate our economic relations in the future,’’ Fluss said.

‘’We have to identify where the bottlenecks, where the programs, and where the government facilitate and make the ease of doing business,’’ Fluss added.

Israeli Embassy expects more tourists visiting PH from Israel

Before the end of the year, the Philippines and Israel are set to sign an agreement to improve cooperation in the tourism industry. Fluss said he expects more Israelis to visit the Philippines.

‘’Israelis are also investing into tourism industry in the Philippines. And I know that there are Israelis busy in that industry in the most popular destination in the Philippines from El Nido to Boracay to other places. So you see and you will see even more Israelis in the Philippines,’’ Fluss said.
