ISINAGAWA ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) sa pamamagitan ng Office of Civil Defense (OCD) ang ika-23 Gawad Kalasag Seal and Special Awards for Excellence sa Manila Hotel ngayong hapon.
Pinarangalan ang mga indibidwal, organisasyon, local government units (LGUs), at iba pang stakeholders na sumuporta sa Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) programs.
Kabilang sa 11 kategorya ay ang GK Seal for Local DRRM Councils and Offices, GK Seal Special Awards for Best Civil Society Organization, Best People’s Organization, Best Volunteer Organization, Best Higher Education Institutions.
Gayundin ang Best Private Organizations, Best Government Emergency Management and Response Teams (GEMS), Best Hospitals, Best Schools, GK Special Recognition for Individuals and Organizations, at Heroic Act for Individuals and Groups.
Nagsisilbi rin ang parangal bilang mekanismo ng performance assessment ng LGU at stakeholders sa pagsusulong ng DRRM programs.
