OPERATING troops of the 2nd Mechanized Infantry “Makasag” Battalion (2nd Mech Inf Bn), under the operational control of the 6th Infantry Division, captured four high-caliber weapons and other war materiel left by retreating Local Terrorist Group (LTG) members in Barangay Kakar, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte, on April 5, 2024.
Army troops captured one 30 Cal. Machine gun, two M16A1 rifles, one 40mm M79 Grenade Launcher, multiple magazines, and various ammunition abandoned by fleeing local terrorists.
The Army leadership commended the Army troops for dealing yet another blow to the remaining LTG forces in Maguindanao del Norte. The Army leadership emphasized the importance of curtailing the firepower of remaining LTG forces to save the lives of innocent civilians and sustain peace in communities.
