FINANCIAL support is now available for micro, small, and medium enterprises in the Philippines looking to venture into the Halal Industry.
Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual and their private counterparts led the ceremony at a hotel in Paranaque.
Under the memorandum of agreement (MOU), the DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) and the Finance company, DK P.O Fulfillment Inc., have agreed to provide interest-free financing.
This is for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the country interested in entering the Halal Industry.
Apart from marketing and promotional activities, this company is offering the following services and programs for MSMEs interested in joining the program through non-interest financing:
- Logistics management
- Quality Control and Inspection
- Custom Brokerage
- Insurance
- Global sourcing and procurement
According to the partner company of the DTI, MSMEs with purchase orders from here or other countries can participate in the program, especially those with significant transactions.
The program will facilitate the relationship between MSMEs and the financing company, ultimately resulting in profit sharing.
‘‘If somebody is giving you a larger purchase order that you can’t handle, all you have to do is go to the program. Then, the program will help you fulfill that,” Antonio JP Intal President, CEO | DK P.O. Fulfillment Company Inc., stated.
The primary beneficiaries of the program are businesses previously operating in Marawi City.
‘‘We are currently preparing more than 100 MSMEs in Marawi to obtain Halal certification, fostering resilience and growth in the region,’’ Sec. Alfredo Pascual, said.
The DTI has ambitious projections for the Halal Industry.
According to Secretary Pascual, the Halal trade and investments sector is expected to create over 120,000 jobs.
‘‘Over the next five years, our strategic plan, which we are finalizing, is to achieve a remarkable milestone of PHP 230 billion in Halal trade and investments while creating over 120,000 job opportunities,’’ Pascual added.
