A terrifying incident rocked Russia after a group of armed men stormed a music venue and started shooting innocent civilians.
The Russian government claimed the incident as a terrorist attack and prompted Moscow to cancel all mass events.
People started screaming volleys of gunfire were heard.
According to local media reports, a packed concert venue in Crocus City came under attack by unknown gunmen, leaving dozens dead and more than a hundred innocent civilians wounded.
There were at least five, camouflage-clad gunmen, armed with assault rifles, who attacked civilians, shooting them on sight.
The gunmen also set off exploding at the concert hall at the mall, which triggered a huge blaze, swallowing the whole building.
Russia’s National Guard, Rosgvardia is searching for the perpetrators of the deadly attack, and its units helped evacuate civilians from the burning building.
Over 70 ambulance crews responded to the incident.
And rescue services had evacuated about 100 people from the basement of the Crocus City Hall.
Helicopters were also deployed to douse the blaze in the building.
As of now, the fire has been contained.
Meanwhile, Russian authorities are investigating the deadly and violent incident, calling it a terrorist attack.
According to the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), at least 60 people have been killed—including children.
Meanwhile, more than 100 were injured, including children with ages ranging from seven to twelve.
Russia’s investigative committee said its operatives and other law enforcement agencies are examining the bodies of the deceased, and also evidence left at the crime scene, including weapons and ammunition allegedly used by the gunmen.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has discussed the Crocus City shooting with Moscow Region Governor, Andrey Vorobyov, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, and Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko.
Putin also wished a speedy recovery to the injured, and offered condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the incident.
