Australian detectives seize over $ 4.2 M in dangerous drugs

DETECTIVES from Logan Major and Organized Crime Squad have slapped five people with 34 offenses over the alleged supply and distribution of illicit drugs in the Logan area, a city in southeast Queensland, Australia.

Police have spent the past nine months investigating an alleged meth syndicate in central Queensland by raiding multiple rural properties as part of Operation Victor Extort.

Last week, local detectives charged 48 people with 196 offenses and seized more than $52,000 worth of drugs in Queensland’s Central Highlands Region.

On Wednesday, Australian officials seized dangerous drugs with an estimated value of $4.2 million.

A day after executing search warrants, a 28-year-old man met a person to supply methylamphetamine and was surprised to have unknowingly transacted with local detectives which led to his arrest.

Government and community organizations claimed that the use and abuse of illegal drugs in Australia created an illegal market estimated to be worth 6.7 billion Australian dollars every year, as drug addiction becomes rampant among teenagers and adults.
