LOCAL officials have issued an urgent evacuation order for residents in Flagstone, Birnam, and Veresdale Scrub as firefighters try to stop a raging bushfires burning hundreds of hectares of land from reaching nearby communities.
By midday, residents in the said areas were told to prepare their belongings, bring their pets, and leave their homes.
Helicopter crews have been deployed to stop the bushfire.
The blaze in Flagstone alone was burning across 950 hectares of dense Bushland.
Residents were told to leave as the situation could escalate quickly.
Officials from the Queensland fire and Emergency Services told residents to pack a bag with a mobile phone charger, important documents, medicine, cash, keys, and enough clothes for five days.
