NAGKAROON ng bilateral meeting sina Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. at Indonesian President Joko Widodo ngayong araw, Setyembre 5.
Sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos na pinili nito ang Indonesia na maging kanyang unang state visit dahil sa maraming kadahilanan.
Ani Marcos, malapit ang Pilipinas at Indonesia, hindi lamang sa geographical location, kundi maging sa kultura at ethnicity.
Tiwala naman ang Punong Ehekutibo na magiging malakas pa ang ugnayan ng dalawang bansa habang unti-unti ang pag-ahon mula sa pandemya.
“I think that it’s going to be the strong partnerships that we will make as we slowly come out of the pandemic economy is what is going to lead us to success,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Pinasalamatan naman ni Pangulong Marcos si President Widodo sa naging imbitasyon nito.
“I think although it is the first time I’ve been to Jakarta, we look around and it feels like home only because you are so warm, you’ve welcomed us so warmly and we have felt the willingness of Indonesia to go into partnership with the Philippines and to strengthen the partnership that we are going to celebrate, the 75th yr in two years time and I think it is one of the longest that diplomatic relations,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
Samantala, apat na kasunduan sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Indonesia ang nilagdaan sa ginanap na state visit ni Pangulong Marcos sa nasabing bansa nitong Lunes.
Kabilang dito ang mga nilagdaang kasunduan ang:
- Plan of Action between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines from 2022 to 2027;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines on Cultural Cooperation;
- Agreement on Cooperative Activities in the Field of Defense and Security between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines
- Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation in the Development and Promotion of Creative Economy between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines
Sa mensahe ni Pangulong Marcos, sinabi nito na nag-usap sila nang matagal ni President Widodo tungkol sa papel na dapat gampanan ng Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
“We also spoke at length about the role that we believe ASEAN should play while we face the difficulties in this very volatile time in geopolitics not only in our region but also in the rest of the world. And we agreed that ASEAN is going to be the lead agent in the changes that we would like to see in continuing to bring peace to our countries,” ayon kay Marcos.
Patuloy namang pinasalamatan ni PBBM ang Indonesia sa tulong nito at pagiging katuwang sa infrastructure programa ng dating administrasyong Duterte.
“We continue to thank Indonesia for the assistance and their involvement in the infra programs of my predecessor, President Duterte and their continuing commitment not only to go on with these programs but to increase the volume and the closeness between our two countries,” ani PBBM.
Bago nito, nagkita sina Pangulong Marcos at President -Widodo sa Bogor Presidential Palace sa Jakarta nitong umaga ng Lunes.
Sinalubong ang state visit ni Pangulong Marcos ng state welcome ceremony.
Nagkaroon din ng photo opportunity sina Pangulong Marcos at President Widodo sa Palace Veranda kasama sina Philippines’ First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos at First Lady of Indonesia Iriana Joko Widodo.
Nagsagawa rin ng ceremonial tree planting at veranda talk.
Mababatid na sa unang araw ng state visit ni Pangulong Marcos sa Indonesia, ay una itong nakipagkita sa Filipino community sa naturang bansa.
