GLOBAL trade flows in Cambodia remain strong despite the geopolitical and armed conflicts in some parts of the world.
Cambodia’s exports to international markets exceeded $22.65-B in 2023, a slight increase from $22.25-B in 2022.
The Southeast Asian country’s international trade reached $4.33-B in December 2023 alone, a nearly 3 percent increase compared to December 2022.
Cambodia’s major trading partners last year included China, the United States, Thailand, Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Germany.
Meanwhile, Chinese and Cambodian officials hailed the role of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement and the Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement (CCFTA), in contributing to the strong momentum of trade growth between the two countries.
In November, China and Cambodia signed an agreement to allow Cambodian companies to conduct financial transactions with Chinese firms using yuan more conveniently.
