CPP-NPA-NDF, tuluyang mahuhubaran sa SIM Registration Act –League of Parents of the Philippines

Pinuri ng League of Parents of the Philippines si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. matapos lagdaan nito ang panukalang SIM registration.

“We, the parents, applaud President Bongbong Marcos for signing into law Republic Act No. 11934 or the SIM Card Registration Act,” pahayag ni Sec. Gen. Arlene Escalante, League of Parents of the Philippines (LPP).

Sa mensaheng ipinadala ni Arlene Escalante, secretary general ng League of Parents of the Philippines, sa SMNI, naniniwala itong sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 11934 o ang SIM Registration Act ay mabawasan ang pagpapakalat ng maling impormasyon at huwad na mga pagkakakilanlan ng CPP-NPA-NDF.

“..because it will lessen, if not eradicate, the use of fictitious and fraudulent information and identities, which the CPP-NPA-NDF have been using in their terroristic acts and propaganda,” dagdag ni Escalante.

“We believe that SIM identification gives another layer of protection for our children and youth,” ani Escalante.

“This particular measure will undoubtedly add more teeth to law enforcement in the form of accurate identification of all mobile phone users,” pahayag ni PBGen. Roderick Augustus B. Alba, Chief PIO.

“Telecommunication has been revolutionized extensively over the years such that even criminal syndicates and terrorist organizations have taken advantage of technology for criminal and terrorist activities.”

“In our experience, during the onset of the pandemic in 2019 when people were prevented from going outside their homes, criminals shifted activities from traditional crimes to online crimes using telecommunication and cyberspace platforms. They have devised different modus operandi to scam people of their hard-earned money. They hid behind the comfort of anonymity by using prepaid SIM cards to defraud unsuspecting victims,” pahayag ni Alba.
