AS artificial intelligence (AI) continues to advance, criminals have been using the technology to scam people.
One Instagram user has warned of scammers using AI to clone the voice of their victim’s loved ones.
In the first video posted by the account, a young woman shared her experience when her grandfather called her saying that her little brother got involved in a car crash.
The scammer copied the voice of her little brother using AI to sound like he was calling his grandfather just a few seconds before getting into an accident.
Later on, the scammer pretended that his little brother was sent to jail and was in need of money for supposedly having killed someone from the crash.
Another woman shares a similar experience.
Unfortunately, as the technology continues to develop, criminals are finding more ways to use AI to defraud people.
