PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. called former PDEA agent Jonathan Morales a “professional liar.”
The president even compared Morales to a jukebox, saying that when coins are inserted, he starts to sing.
This remark was made by Marcos Jr. in response to the public hearing of the Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs held recently.
The focus of the said hearing was on the pre-operation report, order letter, and authority to operate issued by Morales to arrest actress Maricel Soriano and then-Senator Marcos, Jr. due to alleged illegal drug use.
In an exclusive interview with SMNI News on Friday, Morales clarified that he was not accusing the president of illegal drug use.
He stated that as an investigator, he simply did his job of writing the report based on information provided by a confidential informant.
“You know, our president is pitiful because I don’t recall accusing him of anything. The mention of his name was a result of my investigation, and it was revealed by the confidential informant, and I even reduced it to a sworn statement,” Jonathan Morales, Former PDEA Agent said.
Because of this, Morales challenged President Marcos, if he is indeed telling the truth and has nothing to hide, to undergo a hair follicle drug test.
“So, when the president behaves or speaks like this, he should really heed the call of the people to undergo hair follicle drug testing,” Morales added.
Morales pointed out that if there’s anyone between the two of them who has something to prove, it’s definitely Marcos Jr. and not him.
“The confidential informant has personal knowledge, they are the ones who saw it, not me.”
“So, there’s no reason to accuse me of lying now. The burden of proof is on him to undergo a drug test to prove to the people that he is not under the influence of illegal drugs,” he added.
Regarding the question of who is the real liar, this is what former PDEA agent Morales said.
“You know, it appears that his words are coming back to haunt him because he has deceived many, he has made many promises that were not fulfilled.”
“If we’re going to call someone a liar, it’s our president who’s really lied to the people,” he stressed.
