Farmers in Germany to perform week-long protests

CITIES across Germany braces for a week-long protest initiated by farmers and activists starting from January 8 to 15.

Two lobby groups will lead the campaign to oppose government policies including taxes on agricultural vehicles and diesel.

Convoys of slow-moving agricultural vehicles are expected to roam around the city streets for a week.

On December 18, 2023, thousands of German farmers drove with their tractors in Berlin and protested planned budget cuts that would affect them.

The demonstration disrupted traffic in the area.

The public could witness a similar scenario next week along with heightened security and localized transport disruptions.

Pro-Palestine protests also rocked the streets of Germany for weeks since Hamas launched the deadly attack on Israel on October 7.

Some of the protests turn to violence and mass protests.
