Finland transfers State-of-the-Art weapons to Ukraine for combat testing

LIEUTENANT General Mikko Heiskanen, the Armament Chief for the Finnish Defense Forces, revealed Finland has been providing Ukraine with its most advanced weapons systems, including some that are still in the development stage.

The armament chief said that the use of Finland’s technologies in Ukraine received positive feedback, adding that the experience gained will help in the development of Finland’s future military technology in line with the country’s interest.

The Nordic nation previously announced that it would send Leopard 2 tanks and heavy artillery to be used by the Ukrainian military.

Western nations have pledged over $380-B in aid to Ukraine since the Russian invasion erupted in February 2022.

Finland alone has provided Ukraine with more than £2.9-B in aid in the past two years of fighting between Russia and Ukraine.

Ukraine’s former defense minister said that the war in Ukraine allowed its Western allies to evaluate how efficiently their weapons work or if they need to upgrade their technologies to meet the demands of war.
