Gulf countries to launch unified tourist visa by 2025

A unified tourist visa for all six countries in the Gulf region are expected to be launched within the next two years.

The visa is expected to be introduced between 2024 to 2025, according to the UAE’s Ministry of Economy.

The document will allow its holders to travel around the six Gulf countries with more ease.

Travelers find it difficult to obtain a visa for some countries in the GCC depending on what passport they have, as different countries have their criteria.

The unified visa is expected to lure more international tourists and open the Gulf region’s sophisticated tourism sector to the world.

The initiative is in line with the GCC 2030 Tourism Strategy, designed to elevate the tourism industry in the region and make it a leading global destination for both regional and international tourists.

The UAE’s Ministry of Economy said that GCC tourism ministers unanimously approved the launch of the visa during their seventh meeting held in Oman earlier this month.
