ACCORDING to a CCTV report, Israeli warplanes, helicopters, and armored vehicles gathered in Ashkelon on Sunday, a city in southern Israel only a minute’s drive from the northern part of Gaza on Sunday.
The main battle tanks of Merkava were also seen within the military hardware convoy, which is designed to provide maximum protection for its crew.
The IDF also deployed armored bulldozers capable of removing obstacles in the course of advancement, including detonation of mines.
Vehicles were seen waiting outside a military base checkpoint, as reservists answered calls from the IDF to prepare for a major ground operation against Hamas.
So far, Israel has called up 360,000 reservists for two consecutive times.
This comes as the Palestinians struggled to free themselves from certain areas in Gaza amid Israel’s retaliatory air strikes and worsening water and medical supply shortages.
