FORMER Italian Navy Captain, Walter Biot was sentenced to 30 years in jail by a military tribunal after being found guilty of selling secrets to Russia.
According to the report, Biot was caught in the act in 2021 as he was handing information to a Russian Embassy employee in a Rome car park.
Afterward, he was arrested while 2 Russian diplomats were expelled.
A court last year said that Biot had given a memory card that continued 181 photographs of documents and images from his computer.
Apparently, 47 were marked as “NATO secret” while 57 others were “NATO confidential.”
Meanwhile, their lawyer of Biot said that he did not sell any sensitive material and that they would appeal the verdict.
