Japan to send $3-M in aid to quake-hit Morocco

ACCORDING to Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa, the country plans to donate 3 million dollars worth of emergency aid to Morocco.

Last Friday, Morocco was struck by a powerful earthquake, with the epicenter coming from the High Atlas Mountains, affecting many of the remote villages and towns.

Amongst the affected areas is the village of Tafeghaghte.

Reports say that of the 200 residents, 90 were confirmed dead, with more missing.

In response to this, Japan is planning to send 3 million dollars worth of emergency aid.

In addition, Japan also provided relief supplies and food aid to flood-stricken Libya with 700,000 dollars worth of food already delivered to the flood victims via the World Food Program.
