THE government troops continue to inflict serious damage on the communist terrorist groups (CTGs) following a skirmish in the mountainous area of Barangay Hinimbangan, Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte.
Troops from the 30th Infantry Battalion and the 29th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army encountered around six members of the Communist NPA Terrorist (CNT) of SRSDG Westland, NEMRC, led by Ricky M. Per alias “Rem.”
The encounter lasted for five minutes, resulting in the confiscation of one M16 rifle with a magazine, one caliber .45 with a magazine, and other personal belongings.
According to Brigadier General Arsenio Sadural, Commander of the 901st Brigade, the terrorists were attempting to threaten civilians in the area.
Sadural emphasized that the residents themselves are rejecting the wrongful actions of the communist group and are reporting to authorities the whereabouts of the rebel group.
“The people are no longer deceived by the CTGs’ propaganda, and instead, they’re seeing the true nature of these communists. The community now yearns for a peaceful life, free from fear and the destruction caused by these remnants of the Communist Terrorists,” said BGen. Arsenio Sadural, Commander, 901st Brigade, PA.
In connection with this, the 901st Brigade will continue to pursue the remaining CTGs through operations to ensure that the region remains peaceful.
