NOLCOM commends 502IB for exceptional service

LIEUTENANT General  Fernyl Galera Buca PAF, Commander of the Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM), visited the 502nd Infantry (Liberator) Brigade (502IB) on January 29, 2024, to recognize and applaud their outstanding service.

During the visit, LtGen. Buca lauded the 502IB for its crucial role in effectively countering communist terrorist groups (CTG) in Region II.

The ceremony highlighted the presentation of awards to exceptional officers and enlisted personnel, including one  officer from the 502IB and two officers from the 86IB, honored with the Meritorious Achievement Medal (MAM).

Further recognition included two Enlisted Personnel from the 17IB receiving the Military Merit Medal (MMM), and two enlisted personnel from the 95IB awarded the MMM with bronze spearhead device. Two enlisted personnel from the 95IB were also bestowed with the Silver Cross Medal (SCM).

The event showcased the donning of ranks for three newly commissioned reservist officers under the 2nd Regional Community Defense Group, RESCOM, PA.

In his address to the troops, LtGen. Buca conveyed profound appreciation for the 502ID’s operational success and unwavering dedication, emphasizing their significant contribution to the 5ID’s mission of ensuring peace in Region II.

He congratulated the awardees, urging them to persist in their commitment to excellence.

This visit underscores the unwavering support and recognition from NOLCOM leadership for the commendable efforts of the 502IB in safeguarding national security and promoting peace.
