NSW donates $100,000 to families of wedding bus crash victims

THE bride and groom at the center of a devastating wedding bus crash in the popular wine region of Hunter Valley were in total shock after what was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives quickly turned into a horrible tragedy.

The tightknit community of Hunter Valley is still grieving after a fatal bus crash that involved the young couple’s wedding guests killed ten people and injured 25 others this past weekend.

After the nuptials, a bus that was supposed to transport 25 attendees back to their accommodation in the town of Singleton failed to make it to its destination after it rolled over at about 11:30 pm on Sunday.

Hours after exchanging vows with his groom, the upset bride drove desperately to the actual site that claimed the lives of her friends and family.

The 58-year-old driver Brett Button whose mental health suffered after the incident was charged with 10 counts of dangerous driving for each death and one count of negligent driving, with the police claiming he was driving too fast in foggy conditions.

New South Wales Premier Chris Minns announced the $100,000 contribution for the devastated families of the crash victims while the local AFL club was able to raise more than $120,000 through an online fundraising page.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also offered his solemn condolences to the families of the victims who died in the tragic bus crash.

The matter is unlikely to go to trial until 2024.
