THE proposed Basic Education Development Plan (BEDP) 2030 and the MATATAG Agenda of the Department of Education (DepEd) led by Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte has been approved by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
The president made the approval during the recent National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board meeting at the Malacañan Palace.
Marcos emphasized that he does not see any objection to the proposals of the Department of Education, as he stressed its significance to the education system of the Philippines.
Vice President Duterte was present during the NEDA Board meeting to present the Basic Education Development Plan 2030 and the MATATAG Agenda of the department.
The MATATAG Agenda composed of four critical components: “MAking the curriculum relevant; TAking steps to accelerate the delivery of basic education facilities and services; TAking good care of learners by promoting learner well-being, inclusive education, and a positive learning environment; and Giving support to teachers to be able to teach better.
The NEDA Board said the Basic Education Development Plan 2030 and the MATATAG Agenda of DepEd are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 4 on providing education.
