THE Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) vessel, BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301), and Indonesia Coast Guard (BAKAMLA RI) ship, KN Singa Laut (402), successfully conducted a Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX) in the vicinity waters off Manado, Indonesia, on 30 November 2024.
The capacity building activity simulated real-life scenarios which underscored a collaborative effort to enhance the preparedness and coordination of PCG and BAKAMLA RI’s respective emergency response teams in conducting rescue operations.
The exercise ended with coordinated patrol in the borders between the Philippines and Indonesia.
