PCG honors Commodore May Marfil for dedication and courage on National Women’s Month

IN celebration of National Women’s Month, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) recognized Commodore May Marfil PCG for her remarkable dedication and courage during the Monday morning colors at the National Headquarters, Port Area Manila, today, 10 March 2025.

Commodore Marfil’s career in the PCG had already spanned 23 years, during which she has earned the respect and admiration.

With her leadership skills, the PCG has consistently exemplified excellence in maritime safety, environmental protection, and national security.

She is a beacon of inspiration for many, especially as a female leader in a field that has historically been male-dominated.

During her speech, Commodore Marfil PCG conveyed the importance of empowerment among women, particularly in leadership roles. She emphasized the responsibility of senior officers to mentor and support subordinates, highlighting that true empowerment comes from uplifting others.

She also urged everyone to celebrate achievements while also pledging to work together for a future where every woman can reach her full potential.

“Always remember that life is not perfect, problems will always occur as we lived in this world, so don’t waver, stand strong and entrust everything to God,” furthered May Marfil, Commodore PCG.
