HANDA nang buksan ng Pilipinas ang turismo para sa mga fully vaccinated foreign tourists sa Pebrero 10.
Ayon sa Department of Tourism (DOT), inihahanda na ng sektor ng turismo ang pagbubukas para international travelers simula pa noong 2020.
Sinabi ni DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, halos lahat ng mga manggagawa sa turismo ay nakatanggap na ng kumpletong bakuna laban sa COVID-19.
“While this will be the first time the Philippines is opening its doors for foreign leisure travelers since the start of the pandemic, the tourism industry has prepared for this development for close to two years,” pahayag ni Romulo-Puyat.
“We are looking forward to welcoming our foreign visitors once again especially with Metro Manila, the country’s main international gateway, placed under Alert Level 2,” dagdag ng kalihim.
Patuloy naman aniyang ipatutupad ang health at safety protocols upang maiwasan ang paglaganap ng virus.
“Tourism workers have been vaccinated and the observance of health and safety protocols at every destination remains to be a priority. The DOT will be focusing its efforts on the visa-free countries under EO 408 that are identified as our key, strategic, and opportunity markets,” ayon sa kalihim.
Simula Pebrero 10 ay pahintulutan nang makapasok sa bansa ang fully vaccinated foreign tourists mula sa visa-free countries.
Kailangan ng international travelers na magpakita ng kanilang RT-PCR test na kinuha sa loob ng 48 oras bago ang pag-alis mula sa pinanggalingang bansa.
Sa ngayon nasa 157 bansa ang may visa-free entry sa Pilipinas kabilang dito ang South Korea, Australia, Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, United Kingdom, United States, at Germany.
Ayon naman kay Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) chief-operating-officer Ma. Anthonette Velasco-Allones, nakapagtatag ang bansa ng 79 tourism circuits sa iba’t ibang rehiyon.
“It is safe to say that they are ready. They are more than ready,” aniya pa.
Nakatakda namang magpulong ang DOT, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), at mga local government unit (LGUs) hinggil dito.
