Pres. Marcos mourns death of 2 Filipinos in Israel, assures continuous assistance

PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. denounced the terror attacks in Israel and lamented the death of 2 Filipinos killed amid the Israel-Hamas war.

“My heart is heavy upon hearing confirmation of the deaths of two Filipinos in Israel,” according to President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.

The president stressed that the country condemns such killings and stands firmly against the ongoing terror and violence.

“The Philippines condemns these killings and stands firmly against the ongoing terror and violence,” President Marcos added.

He also said that the Philippine government will remain resolute in the pursuit of lasting peace in accordance with the U.N. Resolutions and international laws.

It can be remembered that in his official account X, formerly known as Twitter, Foreign Affairs Secretary Manalo confirmed on Wednesday the killing of two Filipino nationals in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

Before this, President Marcos instructed the Department of Migrant Workers and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration to find and account for all overseas Filipino workers and their families in Israel.

The President has also ordered all agencies involved in protecting the welfare of OFWs and the Filipino community, to cooperate with the Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv and the Migrant Workers Office (WMO) in Israel to ensure their safety.
