DUE to security concerns, Prince William’s visit to British troops in Rzeszow, Poland remained unannounced until he arrived at its capital, Warsaw.
According to reports, the Prince of Wales expressed his gratitude to the British troops for “defending our freedoms” and “keeping everyone safe.”
It can be noted that the British army has a base in the said city, just an hour’s drive from the Ukrainian border.
The purpose of this is to quickly deliver support to Ukraine.
Following his visit to Rzeszow, the Prince arrived in Warsaw.
In an address, he said,
“Our nations have strong ties. Through our co-operation in support of the people of Ukraine and their freedom, which are also our freedoms and yours, these ties are further strengthened.”
For the next day of his two-day surprise visit, William will be meeting Polish President Andrzej Duda at the Presidential Palace.
Previously, it can be recalled that the Prince has voiced his support for Ukraine.
His trip to Poland is him renewing that support.
