SECTORAL leaders from across the Philippines will converge this weekend, just days before President Bongbong Marcos Jr.’s State of the Nation Address (SONA).
According to the convenors of Hakbang ng MAISUG, Marcos Jr.’s upcoming SONA on July 22 will be filled with lies.
To correct the misleading speech, various groups and sectors will conduct a PEOPLE’S SONA at Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila.
Representatives from the Muslim sector, senior citizens, business groups, women’s sector, professionals, labor sector, urban poor, and others will attend.
Hakbang ng MAISUG assures that the true state of the nation will be revealed through the eyes of ordinary Filipinos.
Here are the statements from some of the attending sectoral leaders.
“We will present the real truth. Not sugar-coated. Just as is, where is. Now it’s up to the people to judge,” Arch. Butch Baliao Professionals Sector Representative said.
“Pinocchio government. Okay? Such a lying government! We know it’s all propaganda. We know it and they know it too! If they are truly listening to the people!” Vivian Velez Women’s Sector Representative said.
“Since he stepped in, our country has never been sound. So that’s why we are creating the sounds that matter. This is the People’s SONA because the voices of the Filipinos represent the genuine sentiments and the state of the country,” according to Rafael Eubra Business Sector Representative.
Former President Rodrigo Duterte is invited to the gathering.
