SENATOR Imee Marcos assures her loyalty to Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte despite rumors of alleged destabilization attempts within the House leadership.
To recall, during a session in the House on Monday, House Speaker Martin Romualdez defended himself against threats to his leadership.
In a message seemingly directed at the House leadership, Senator Imee Marcos said that it’s a disgrace for politicians to divide the nation and use issues for self-promotion and grandstanding.
“It’s a disgrace that some politicians are tearing the nation apart and using it for self-promotion and grandstanding. The lessons from [typhoon] Yolanda were learned exactly ten years ago, that no typhoon can drown the strength of the Filipino people who are awake and vigilant,” according to Sen. Imee Marcos.
The senator states that if the House were to turn its back on its previous strong support for Duterte, she would never do the same.
Sen. Imee Marcos to Duterte: Even if I’m the last one standing, I will stand by him
She explains that, like her father, Former President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr., she remains loyal to her friends who are for the development of the nation.
“Back then, he was asked whether he allowed the burial because he’s my friend? His answer then is my answer now: Not just because he’s my friend, I REALLY AM HIS FRIEND, especially Inday Sara, my friends in the nation’s development, in maintaining peace, and in fighting against the forces of evil that spread corruption, hunger, and treachery,” she added.
The senator also stressed that nothing can stop her from speaking out against betrayal and disrespect to the person who showed respect to her father when he allowed his interment in the Heroes’ Cemetery.
“I repeat: in 2015, I was the first and only governor to declare support for President Duterte. And even if I’m the last one standing, I will stand by him,” she said.
For Sen. Imee, the reason there are loyalists among the Marcoses is because they are faithful to their friends, to their principles, and most importantly, they are the most loyal to the nation’s welfare.
