JUSTICE Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla was all smiles on Thursday during his appearance to the media while on a wellness leave, saying he misses his work at the Justice Department.
During a press conference Sec. Remulla disclosed that he underwent a heart bypass surgery last June 27, a day after he started his wellness leave on June 26.
The doctor discovered that there were blockages in his heart during his annual checkup on June 21-23.
Remulla also disclosed that he was a smoker for 30 years and had stopped only in 2010, adding that it had been the major causative factor to his heart condition.
The wellness leave of the secretary will end next week and he will be back to work by Tuesday.
Yet Remulla said that he will limit his physical appearances at the DOJ in the next three weeks due to his condition.
The secretary also said that he and President Marcos already talked about his condition, adding that the president was so supportive of his decision of undergoing surgery.
