THREE Chinese nationals named Zhang Anlong, Ma Wenxiang, and Yang Jinmei, have been apprehended in Myanmar and returned to China on Wednesday, according to China’s Ministry of Public Security.
The individuals had long resided in the northern part of Myanmar.
They are accused of smuggling over 2,000 kilograms of narcotics into China.
China’s Ministry of Public Security, along with Myanmar’s government and the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, conducted the apprehension.
China’s and Myanmar’s anti-drug authorities worked together to carry out cross-border law enforcement operations, which led to the arrest of the three suspects.
Chinese police released a list of the ten most wanted drug crime fugitives in December 2023, and six of them have been arrested so far.
