Sweden, Finland train side by side with NATO allies

SWEDISH and Finnish troops showcased their flying skills as their fighter jets hovered above the Baltic Sea and in the Baltic States’ airspace.

Fighter jet pilots from Sweden and Finland trained with their colleagues from France, Belgium, Germany, and Poland.

The NATO troops performed air-to-air combat drills over the Baltic Sea and in the airspace of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

Meanwhile, foreign ministers gathered at the NATO headquarters in Brussels, Belgium to mark the 75th founding anniversary of the military alliance.

Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg hailed NATO for becoming “bigger, stronger, and more united than ever, ‘’ as Sweden and Finland joined the alliance.

The 32-nation alliance discussed longer-term military support to Ukraine as Russian troops showed signs of gaining the upper hand and asserting control on the battlefield.
