ITS, just halfway through 2023 but the number of foreign visitors in Thailand exceeded the number of tourists welcomed in 2023.
According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Thailand received 11.4 million foreign tourist arrivals from January to June 11.
The ministry also witnessed spending of 472 billion baht for the same period.
The latest figure surpassed the number of foreigners who visited Thailand in 2022 which stood at 1.15 million.
The number of Russian and Chinese tourists visiting Thailand also increased since the start of the year.
With Thailand’s booming tourism industry promising a lot of opportunities, the government has increased its estimated target for international arrivals to 25 million by the end of the year.
