TWO overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) were among those injured after an apartment building suddenly collapsed in the Bin Durham neighborhood in Doha.
The two OFWs were treated for minor injuries and immediately discharged from the hospital.
According to the local media, the apartment building housed several families from different countries like Pakistan, Egypt, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines.
At least 30 Filipinos living in a nearby building were affected by the tragedy.
Meanwhile, a 58-year-old man from Sri Lanka was killed inside the building at the time of the collapse.
The Department of Migrant Workers on Thursday assured that immediate assistance in the form of food and basic necessities were given to the 30 Filipino nationals affected by the tragedy including temporary shelter.
The whole area has been cordoned off as authorities investigate the reason behind the sudden collapse which happens rarely in the oil-rich gulf state.
