Several industrial sectors such as shops, schools, airports, and even public transportation in Finland are expected to come to a standstill as hundreds of thousands of people join a massive rally next week.
Up to 300,000 people will join the three-day strike action from the 14th through the 16th of February.
The Finnish Industrial Union and Trade Union Pro will organize the strike action.
Thousands of protesters gathered on the streets of Finland in recent weeks to oppose the government’s proposed employment changes and social security cuts.
The chairperson of the Industrial Union said the group has no choice but to intensify its actions due to dissatisfaction with the government’s response despite calls by trade unions for changes in employee rights and unemployment security.
