U.S. Senate democrats block standalone aid for Israel over Ukraine

U.S. Senate Democrats have rejected a House bill providing emergency aid to Israel without Ukraine funding and are demanding support for President Joe Biden‘s 106 billion dollars bundle proposal, which includes aid for Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and migration policy under “border security.”

The White House aims to overcome Republican opposition to Ukraine funding. The House passed a 14 billion dollar standalone aid package for Israel, offset by IRS cuts.

The American Senate requires 60 votes to pass a bill, and President Biden has promised to veto the House bill if it passes.

To recall, The U.S. has provided Ukraine with $44 billion in military aid since February 2022.

The Senate Democrats are working on their funding proposal, set to be introduced soon.
