THE UAE-based EDGE Group announced it has teamed up with Turkish drone maker Baykar to arm the company’s unmanned aerial vehicles with Emirati payloads.
Under the agreement, EDGE will integrate its DESERT STING 16 “precision-guided munition” onto Baykar’s TB2 drone.
In a recent video, the UAE-based defense company showed its DESERT STING 16″ bomb to have integrated successfully into the famous Turkish drone.
The Bayraktar drone became well-known due to its performance in the early days of the conflict in Ukraine.
It was the first time a Turkish drone maker certified and publicly acknowledged that foreign munitions had integrated into its platforms.
In September 2022, the UAE received the first batch of the 120 Bayraktar drones it had ordered from Turkiye.
The UAE defense company said it is planning to integrate more of its payloads with the Turkish drone in the coming months.
