THE UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave a glimpse of the nation’s humanitarian and financial support to Palestinians in Gaza when the country launched a mission to help civilians affected by the war.
According to the ministry, the Gulf nation has provided almost 40,000 tonnes of urgent supplies to Gaza since November.
More than 600 people from Gaza have been brought to the UAE for medical treatment.
Two hospitals with more than 100 doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and lab technicians have been set up in Gaza to help those in need.
A field hospital established in December has treated more than 3,500 patients by mid-February.
The UAE has also provided a 100-bed floating hospital docked off the coast of Al Arish Port complete with operating rooms, intensive care facilities, a laboratory, a pharmacy, medical warehouses, and ambulances.
Additionally, the UAE set up six desalination plants capable of generating up to 1.2 million gallons of clean drinking water a day for 600,000 people.
The UAE also established five automated bakeries that produce bread for up to 72,000 people in Gaza.
The UAE has been supporting Palestine financially through millions worth of aid even before the start of the Israel-Hamas war.
