Vice Pres. Sara Duterte urges the public to fight against terrorism

VICE President Sara Duterte witnessed the grief of the families of the four slain soldiers in a recent ambush done by terrorists in Maguindanao del Sur.

She said the deaths of Corporal Crezaldy Espartero, Private First Class Carl Araña, Private Jessie James Corpuz, and Private Marvin Dumaguing underscores the bitter truth that terrorism remains a primary problem requiring collective action as a nation.

This prompted Vice President Duterte’s call to the public.

“Let us fight against terrorism. Let us support the education of our youth. Let us support our military by providing information about the enemy,” Vice President Sara Duterte, Republic of the Philippines stated.

As a Mindanaoan, Vice President Duterte witnessed how poverty, lack of livelihood, and unequal access to education contribute to the allure of radical violence.

She also emphasized the need for local governments to prioritize security as citizens, and that many Filipino soldiers have sacrificed their lives for the country’s peace.

“Let us not waste their heroism by showing ourselves weak in the face of the atrociousness of terrorism,” she said.
