THE 60th Munich security conference in Germany gathered more than 180 world leaders on its second day.

Attendees include government officials, security experts, policymakers, as well as defense and military personnel.

The annual conference held since 1963 aims to seek and promote solutions to ongoing conflicts and potential security problems through peaceful dialogue.

The conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, as well as the security in Europe, are expected to be part of the agenda.

Participants will discuss international issues based on a global security standpoint. The event started on the 16th and ends on the 18th.

Meanwhile, the Munich Security Index 2024 which was released ahead of the global conference revealed the increasing anxiety among Europeans in the wake of simultaneous geopolitical tensions happening in the world today.

Of the 32 economic and geopolitical risks stated in the survey, respondents from G7 countries showed the highest level of anxiety in about nearly all the risk indicators.

Respondents from these countries believe that their respective governments will become more insecure and less prosperous in the next ten years.
