THE Coast Guard Real Estate Management Service (CGREMS) Director, CG Commander Laurince Ivan Felizarte, spearheaded the successful conduct of Mangrove Planting Activity at Tanza Marine Tree Park, Brgy. Tanza I, Navotas City, Manila on 26 April 2024.

Over 100 personnel participated in the planting of 200 mangrove propagules in the designated coastal area to promote environmental conservation and sustainable coastal development, in line with the Command’s commitment to preserving the marine ecosystem.

“The planting of mangroves not only contributes to the overall health of our ecosystem, but also serves as a proactive measure in addressing the effects of rising temperatures and extreme weather conditions. That’s why the significance of today’s activity cannot be understated,” CG Commander Felizarte stated.

The said activity was conducted in celebration of the 9th Founding Anniversary of the Coast Logistics Systems Command (CGLSC) with theme “CGLSC @9: Engaging Towards a Sustainable Logistics System, Propelling with Dynamism and Competence”.

This was undertaken in partnership with the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources National Capital Region (DENR-NCR) and Caloocan City Filipino-Chinese Fire Protection Association, Inc.
