First Lady Liza Marcos’ feelings have no bearing on my mandate—VP Sara Duterte

VICE President Sara Duterte speaks out regarding recent jabs made by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos against her.

“My fellow countrymen, as a person, it is the right of First Lady Liza Marcos to feel resentment and anger,” stated Vice President Sara Duterte, Republic of the Philippines.

Vice President Sara Duterte said it is not wrong for First Lady Liza Marcos to express her personal feelings.

However, the vice president emphasized that the statements made by the first lady in a recent interview with a broadcaster have nothing to do with her mandate.

But her personal feelings have no bearing on my mandate as a government official.

VP Sara said that she and President Bongbong Marcos will discuss this matter privately.

“To move forward, we will leave the next steps to a private conversation between myself and President “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.,” VP Duterte added.

Philippines’ pressing issues should be prioritized—VP Sara Duterte

VP Sara emphasized that it is better to focus on resolving the various problems facing the country, citing the rising prices of goods, inadequate water and electricity supply, as well as the resurgence of drug and terrorism.

“The continuous rise in the prices of food and other commodities further exacerbates the hunger or lack of adequate food experienced by our poor countrymen. There is also a looming shortage of water and electricity supply, while the illegal drug trade is once again rampant,” she stated.

Meanwhile, the threat of criminality, terrorism, and insurgency in our country has not yet been eradicated. These are the issues that deserve our attention.
