‘’Now I declare the second session of the 14th National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China open!’’ Zhao Leji, chairman, NPC Standing Committee said.
Ang ikalabing apat na National People’s Congress, ang pinakamataas na organ ng state power ng China ay nagbukas na ng ikalawang session noong Martes sa Great Hall of People sa Beijing.
Si President Xi Jinping na siya ring General secretary ng Communist Party of China central Committee at Chairman ng Central Military Commission kasama ang iba pang Chinese leaders ay kabilang sa higit dalawang libo at walundaang NPC Deputy na dumalo sa pagbubukas ng pagpupulong.
Iniulat naman ni Premier Li Qiang ang government work report bilang kinatawan ng state council para sa deliberasyon.
“2023 was the first year for fully implementing the guiding principles from the 20th CPC National Congress. It was also this government’s first year to perform its duties in accordance with the law. In the face of an unusually complex international environment and the challenging tasks of advancing reform and development and ensuring stability at home, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core brought together the Chinese people of all ethnic groups and led them in withstanding external pressures and overcoming internal difficulties with dedicated efforts. We secured a smooth transition in COVID-19 epidemic response. The main goals and tasks for economic and social development in 2023 were accomplished, and we made steady progress in pursuing high-quality development, maintained overall social stability, and made solid advances in building a modern socialist country in all respects,” Li said, reviewing the work in the past year,’’ Li Qiang, Chinese Premier said.
Sa loob ng pitong araw na sesyon, ang mga Deputy ng NPC ay pag-aaralan ang ulat ng government work report at susuriin ang implementasyon ng 2023 plant para sa national economic at social development maging ang 2024 draft plan ng gobyerno para sa bansa.
Pag-aaralan rin ang paggastos ng central at local budgets noong nakaraang taon at gagawa na rin ang mga ito ng draft para sa central at local budgets ngayong taon.
Samantala, susuriin rin ang panukala na isinusulong ng NPC Standing Committee ukol sa pagrereview ng draft revision ng organic law of the state council, at work reports ng NPC Standing Committee, Supreme People’s Court at Supreme People’s Procuratorate.
