ARMY operating troops of the 1st Brigade Combat Team (BCT) involving the 1st Scout Ranger Company (SRC) of the 1st Scout Ranger Battalion (SRB), and Scout Platoon of CAT 92 & 99, neutralized 12 Local Terrorist Group (LTG) members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) – Karialan Faction (KF) and recovered 12 high-powered firearms (HPFAs) on April 22, 2024 at Sitio Pendililang, Brgy. Kitango, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur.
Acting on a tip-off from concerned individuals in the community, the 1BCT troops immediately launched series of military operations and able to neutralize Mohiden Animbang, Chairman of BIFF-KF and Saga Animbang, operation chief, brother of Mohiden.
Troops also recovered 12 HPFAs including one M4-like rifle, five M16A1 rifles, three M14 rifles, two M653 rifles and one HPFA (still to be identified).
The Army leadership commended the 1BCT troops for their intensified military operations in Maguindanao del Sur. Moreover, the 6ID leadership also encouraged the remaining LTG members to surrender and return to the fold of law so that it would pave the way for sustained peace and progress in the region.
