Russian daytime strikes in Zaporizhzhia kill 1, injure 34

RUSSIA reportedly unleashed new missile strikes on towns and cities across Ukraine, with more than a dozen of people injured.

A powerful explosion rocked the city of Zaporizhzhia on Wednesday after Russia reportedly launched daytime strikes.

Footages captured the moment that the strike hit, causing a huge blast and plume of smoke to rise in two nine-story apartment complexes.

One person was killed, and at least 324 people were injured in Russia’s daytime attack.

According to Ukrainian reports, at least six missiles hit the city, causing huge damage; the blast wave ad debris also damaged other nearby buildings, cars, and other civilian infrastructure.

Senior Ukrainian official and presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak described it as a deliberate strike to kill civilians.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack, saying:

“This must not become as ‘just another day’ in Ukraine or anywhere else in Europe or the world. The world needs greater unity and determination to defeat Russian terror faster and protect lives.”

“This must not become “just another day” in Ukraine or anywhere else in Europe or the world. The world needs greater unity and determination to defeat Russian terror faster and protect lives,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine.

The United Nations’ nuclear agency chief raised concerns about the situation at the Zapoizhzhia Powerplant, saying that it remains perilous, following Russia’s missile strike this month that disconnected the plant from the grid.

Zaporizhzhia, Europe’s largest nuclear plant, needs a sufficient and reliable electricity supply in order to get it working properly.

UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency or I.A.E.A chief, Rafael Grossi said that Russia’s March 9 missile strike caused the nuclear plant to rely on a single backup powerline, and it remains disconnected and under repair.
