THE Association of Social Media Broadcasters of the Philippines, Inc. has filed a criminal case against TV host comedian Vice Ganda and partner Ion Perez.
According to the group’s lawyer, Atty. Mark Tolentino, the charges relate to a violation of the cybercrime law.
The group has temporarily declined to provide additional details regarding the reason for filing the case but said all questions will be answered during the group’s upcoming press conference on Wednesday, September 13.
Meanwhile, Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile expressed his frustration with Vice Ganda over the weekend.
This came after certain actions that Enrile referred to as “salacious” involving the controversial TV host.
Sec. Enrile to Vice Ganda: You’re Disrespectful
“Salacious! That means it’s malicious!” Sec. Juan Ponce Enrile, Chief Presidential Legal Counsel said.
Enrile pointed out the issue of individuals in positions of power and influence who become indifferent to their actions and how they treat others.
He described the comedian as disrespectful.
“You only think about yourself. You think what you’re doing is great, but you’re disrespectful! You’re a disrespectful person!”
“Not only lacking in decency but abusive! Disrespectful!”
“It’s been like this for a long time,”Enrile added.
Enrile also urged parents whose children are influenced by Vice Ganda to denounce the comedian.
“Every family with children who are hurt or influenced negatively, they should denounce [Vice Ganda],” according to Enrile.
