HIGH-ranking Emirati officials warmly welcomed Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in a recent working visit to the UAE.
UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan sat down with Fidan for a working dinner in Abu Dhabi.
Both leaders discussed stronger bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Turkiye across various sectors, including their comprehensive economic partnership.
They reviewed opportunities to boost bilateral cooperation in all fields, including economic, commercial, and investment fields.
The two diplomats also addressed tensions in the Middle East such as the urgent need for a ceasefire and sustained humanitarian efforts in Gaza.
Both sides campaigned for a two-state solution as a way to achieve lasting peace in the war-torn territory. The death toll in the besieged enclave exceeded 34,000 since October.
The Turkish official also met his counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi the UAE capital.
He relayed Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s sincere condolences for the death of Sheikh Hazza bin Sultan bin Zayed al Nahyan. The young royal was reportedly renowned within equestrian circles for his exceptional talent as a horse rider.
Non-oil trade between the two countries, increased by 103.7 percent in 2023.
The visit comes as the UAE forged economic ties with multiple countries in recent months.
