INAASAHANG makapagsisilbi ng 2 milyong pasahero kada taon ang Bicol International Airport (BIA) sa Daraga, Albay.
Pinangunahan kahapon, October 7, 2021, ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang pagpapasinaya sa naturang airport.
Sa talumpati ng punong ehekutibo, saad nito na ikinagalak niya ang pagka-kumpleto ng world-class at state-of-the-art government infrastructure project.
Isa rin aniyang karangalan na masaksihan ang nasabing malaking proyekto na inaasahang makapagbibigay ng mas maayos at matiwasay na transportasyon para sa mga magbibiyahe papunta at mula sa bicol.
“It is my pleasure to join you today on the inauguration of the Bicol International Airport. The completion of this world-class state of the art gov’t infrastructure project brings us pride and joy as it will provide better transportation for our people who are traveling to and fro the Bicol region,” ani Duterte.
Ibinahagi pa ng presidente na makapagsisilbi ang BIA ng tinatayang 2.2 milyong mga pasahero bawat taon.
“On this note, I urge the management and staff of the Bicol International Airport to ensure that your passengers will get the best, quality of service they deserve,” saad ng pangulo.
“Let us look forward for a stronger and more vibrant future of the entire bicol region and its surrounding provinces,” dagdag nito.
Nasilayan rin ni Duterte ang contactless na self-service check-in kiosk ng BIA.
Pinuri ng punong ehekutibo ang Department of Transportation (DOTr), Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), kasama ang mga lokal na opisyal at project partners, sa pagsasakatuparan ng naturang proyekto matapos ang 11 taong pagkaantala ng konstruksyon nito.
