For Érika de Souza Vieira Nunes, all it took was to transport her dead uncle’s corpse in a wheelchair and make him a co-signer for a huge loan she was aiming to receive.
However, this thoughtless action came with a huge price.
A disturbing video of the 42-year-old woman was captured grasping her dead uncle’s hand in front of a bank employee in Rio de Janeiro. The employees became suspicious after she forced the corpse to grab a pen and co-sign a loan for approximately $3,400.
The man’s motionless body and pale color bothered the bank employees and decided to call the authorities.
The police and paramedics who arrived at the scene confirmed that the man was dead for at least a few hours.
The man was identified as 68-year-old Paulo Roberto Braga.
Police also confirmed that the woman was related to the deceased.
She underwent a custody hearing on Thursday.
The woman immediately went viral in Brazil and also attracted international attention.
